Absurdly valued...

Of course I know that the Enemy also wants to detach men from themselves, but in a different way. Remember always, that He really likes the little vermin, and sets an absurd value on the distinctness of every one of them. When He talks of their losing their selves, He only means abandoning the clamour of self-will; once they have done that, He really gives them back all their personality, and boasts (I am afraid, sincerely) that when they are wholly His they will be more themselves than ever.

A Good Day...; )

I had a wonderful day. A day full of soul-deep conversation, of the myriad chemical-relational reactions different groups of people make when in each other's presence, full of reading justifications of Jezebel's behavior, full of strange memories and poetic inspirations. Full of girlish chuckles and giggles, apologies, affirmations, reminders. It was just a good day. I think the best day I've had since I've been back this semester.

I do believe I'm gaining this courage to face my fears. Doing the things I think I cannot do. And probably can't, without the all-sufficient grace of Christ.
I do hope so.

Hope is the thing with feathers

These words, more than some Scripture verses, remind me so vividly of the Hope we have.
It sings the tune without the words--yes, when words are hard to find or difficult to create or conceive...or perhaps, when there are no words.

This is a song by a group called Watermark, and as I was listening to it this afternoon, it struck a chord with me (pun intended). God is a perfect redeemer and restorer. Yes, that must be true. Truly, He works to the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
